Animal Rescue Corps Transports 86 Dogs from Missouri Breeders

The animals arrived at the Nashville-area Rescue Center facing varying levels of trauma. While many of the dogs appear physically stable, they remain shy and unaccustomed to human contact. Staff are preparing for extensive veterinary interventions, including addressing long-standing dental issues and tumor removals, alongside the slower process of earning the trust of adults who have spent their lives in isolation. Two kittens joined the transport with more acute needs, including one requiring surgery for an injured eye and another struggling with partial blindness.

Executive Director Tim Woodward noted that the mission, dubbed Operation Eclipse, required a rapid logistical reset. ARC staff had just cleared space by transferring 47 dogs and one cat to placement partners, forcing a swift sanitization of the facility to accommodate the new arrivals. The organization, led by the 2025 CNN Hero finalist, continues to manage the intake of animals from multiple large-scale operations simultaneously. Woodward emphasized that despite the constant strain on resources, the commitment to providing these animals a safe transition remains the core of their ongoing mission.
