The residence, which dates back to the 1890s, serves as a physical chronicle of Grayton Beach. It survived the hurricane of 1926—which knocked the structure from its foundation—and later functioned as a barracks for U.S. Coast Guard members patrolling the shore on horseback during World War II. Despite these trials and the rapid development of the surrounding 30A corridor, the home has changed hands only six times in its history.

Following a 2022 reconstruction led by Daniel Brock, with architectural design by Gregory D. Jazayeri and interiors by Tami Owen, the home grew from 2,200 square feet to 6,225 square feet. The updated layout now features seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms, and extensive outdoor living spaces that frame the gulf landscape.
