Founded in 2023, the platform now bypasses traditional insurance and referral requirements, offering over 1,000 individual diagnostic tests at cost. By shifting to a $9 monthly membership model, the company aims to eliminate markups and commissions, a structure co-founder Kenneth Lou claims encourages more measured testing. Rather than incentivizing higher test volumes, the service provides clinician-reviewed guidance designed to help users identify necessary screenings based on personal health goals.
Mito Health Surpasses One Million Tests as Diagnostic Platform Expands
San Francisco-based diagnostic marketplace Mito Health has processed over one million lab tests, marking a shift in its business model as it expands from longevity blood panels into seven distinct categories of preventive health testing, including whole genome sequencing, imaging, and multi-cancer early detection.

The service footprint now covers nationwide walk-in access for lab panels, with at-home blood collection available in 35 states. Beyond standard bloodwork, the expanded catalog includes DEXA scans, whole-body MRI, gut microbiome analysis, and liquid biopsy testing for early cancer detection. Rhonda Collins, who oversees clinical operations, noted that consolidating these diverse diagnostic paths—from fertility planning to chronic disease markers—reduces the fragmentation often faced by patients navigating complex health histories.
