Under the new partnership, Médunik Canada will take over all commercial and medical activities for the treatment, which is prescribed alongside clobazam and valproate. By utilizing its specialized rare disease infrastructure, the company intends to increase engagement with pediatric neurologists and comprehensive epilepsy centers throughout the country. Michael Gallo, Vice President of Regulatory and Medical Affairs at Duchesnay Pharmaceutical Group, noted that the focus remains on maximizing therapeutic reach and improving clinical support for specialists.

Biocodex views the collaboration as a shift in how the Canadian market addresses the complex needs of patients living with this lifelong neurological disorder. Hubert Chapellier, Head of International Business for Biocodex Rare Diseases, emphasized that the alliance is designed to improve the understanding of the condition among families. While Médunik Canada assumes responsibility for engagement, the agreement maintains existing supply chain and access protocols to ensure that patients continue to receive uninterrupted treatment.
