At IFA 2026 in Berlin, Tuya Smart is pivoting from standard smart home connectivity to physical AI, unveiling the Doova companion robot alongside a suite of integrated ecosystems. The company aims to move artificial intelligence beyond digital screens and into the practical, everyday environments of homes, energy grids, and personal care.

The centerpiece of Tuya’s exhibition is Doova, a robot engineered specifically for seniors living independently. Beyond standard mobility, the device uses LDS LiDAR and AI-driven posture recognition to monitor user safety. It functions as an active assistant, capable of facilitating video calls, analyzing complex documents, and identifying potential fraud risks in correspondence. By combining emotional support with functional home security patrols, the robot represents a shift toward context-aware domestic hardware.

Expanding the Intelligent Ecosystem

Tuya is also bringing its AI Home, AI Robot, and AI Energy platforms to the European market for the first time. The AI Home lineup features specialized hardware like radar-based sleep speakers that track heart rate and breathing patterns to automate environment settings, such as lighting adjustments. Meanwhile, the AI Energy platform connects solar storage, smart metering, and EV charging into a single network. By pulling data from over 800 electricity providers, the system dynamically shifts household loads to optimize costs.

To ensure compatibility across these devices, the company is pushing a full-stack Matter portfolio that supports Wi-Fi, Thread, and Ethernet. This infrastructure is underpinned by the 'Hey Tuya' multi-agent architecture, which allows users to control disparate devices through natural language commands. To accelerate adoption, Tuya is offering development tools like Cobuilder and AI Coding, allowing creators to translate hardware concepts into functional products without extensive technical overhead. These resources are currently available to a global network of over 2 million registered developers.
