The award-winning 15mm lens balances an ultra-wide field of view with a fast F1.6 aperture, all within a compact frame. By incorporating in-house manufactured aspherical elements, SIRUI has prioritized low distortion and a 0.3m minimum focusing distance, specifically targeting the needs of full-frame video production. This focus on portability and technical performance marks a shift in how the brand approaches its high-end optical lineups.
SIRUI Debuts Aurora 15mm F1.6 and Saturn V2 at IBC 2026
The imaging brand SIRUI claimed a Best of Show award at IBC 2026 on September 13 for its new Aurora 15mm F1.6 full-frame autofocus lens. This win anchored a broader exhibition in Amsterdam, where the company showcased a suite of new optical tools aimed at expanding its presence among professional filmmakers and creators.
Beyond the Aurora series, the company introduced the Saturn V2, a 1.6x anamorphic lens capable of both horizontal and vertical shooting. The exhibition also previewed the upcoming Swift series—a project built around a 'Daily Carry' philosophy—and additional focal lengths for the Aurora line, including a 24mm model designed to minimize focus breathing. During the event, SIRUI collaborated with creators such as Sightseeing Stan and Vi-Dan, alongside industry partners like EVOTO and HOLLYLAND, to demonstrate the practical application of these tools in documentary and event cinematography. These new offerings are scheduled for a staggered release in the coming months.
