Aly Raisman and BISSELL Bring Pet Adoption to the Runway

Fifteen adoptable dogs took to the catwalk at New York Fashion Week on September 9, sharing the spotlight with celebrity handlers to promote a nationwide effort against pet homelessness. The event, held at Webster Hall, marked the third annual Best in Show collaboration between BISSELL and designers Rachel Antonoff and Susan Korn.

The runway event served as a high-profile platform for the BISSELL Pet Foundation’s Fix the Future initiative. Gymnastics icon and BISSELL brand ambassador Aly Raisman walked the show with Birdy, a dog from the Animal Haven shelter, to highlight the necessity of affordable spay and neuter services. The presentation featured an immersive art installation called the Cone of Honor, which reimagined the traditional post-surgery medical cone as a symbol of responsible pet care rather than a mark of shame.

Since November 2023, the foundation’s medical teams have performed over 452,000 spay and neuter surgeries across 28 states, logging nearly 13,000 days of clinical work. This effort targets the root causes of overcrowding in shelters, a mission that remains central to the company’s 150th-anniversary legacy. Through the Every Purchase Saves Pets program, the company continues to fund adoption, vaccination, and emergency response efforts, building on a history that has impacted more than 1.3 million animals since 2011.
