Wooclap Acquires Vevox to Consolidate Active Learning Market

Brussels-based Wooclap has acquired the UK audience engagement platform Vevox, aiming to dominate the global active learning sector. By merging two distinct approaches to classroom and corporate training, the companies plan to leverage their combined network of 1,000 institutions to develop next-generation engagement tools for the AI era.

The acquisition marks a significant expansion for Wooclap, supported by Impact Expansion, which invested in the company last year to accelerate its international reach. While both platforms will continue to operate independently for the immediate future, the long-term roadmap involves integrating their technologies into a unified, AI-powered experience. The goal is to move beyond passive information consumption by fostering collaborative environments that require participants to reflect and engage in real-time.

Wooclap brings a methodology rooted in neuroscience and learning science to the table, while Vevox focuses on its 'Value Every Voice' philosophy, which prioritizes inclusive participation. Together, the group serves a high-profile client roster including Duke University, the University of Alberta, and enterprise giants like Deloitte, BP, and Dior. CEO Baudouin Corman and Vevox Managing Director Pete Eyre emphasized that the merger is driven by the necessity of maximizing learning outcomes in an age where AI-driven content is changing how education is delivered.
