Coplan arrives from Sidley Austin, where she served as global co-leader of the technology and IP transactions group, while Parr transitions from Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, having led the firm's Boston-based IT transactions practice. Their recruitment signals a push by the New York-based firm to broaden its reach beyond its initial focus on hedge funds and private equity, targeting the wider technology sector with services spanning cloud infrastructure, AI governance, and data analytics.
The firm utilizes software agents to manage the initial drafting and analysis of legal documents, allowing human attorneys to prioritize negotiation and strategic counseling. According to Coplan, this model addresses the traditional inefficiencies of legal delivery by delegating time-intensive tasks to AI, while Parr noted that the platform provides a unique environment to scale high-quality work as client business models evolve. The expanded team will now support a diverse client base—including technology companies and institutional investors—by leveraging a system backed by over $260 million in funding from investors like Khosla Ventures, Blackstone, and Bain Capital.
