The company is positioning LeapSpace as a research-grade workspace, aiming to bridge the trust gap between generative AI capabilities and academic rigor.
To counter the industry-wide skepticism—where only 22% of researchers report trusting AI tools—Elsevier has launched an independent Advisory Board. Chaired by Carleton University’s Jörg-Rüdiger Sack, the panel oversees algorithmic transparency and publisher-neutral content rankings. The board includes experts from RWTH Aachen University, Zhejiang University, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, tasked with ensuring that the tool remains grounded in verifiable scientific evidence rather than opaque model generation.
