The integration includes Moldindconbank, FinComBank, EuroCreditBank, and Victoriabank, effectively replacing the need for physical identity documents and manual data entry. Since the eGovernance Agency opened the platform to external organizations in April 2026, the ecosystem has grown to include 30 entities at various stages of adoption, such as the National Bank of Moldova and major telecommunications providers. At least 20 additional organizations are scheduled to complete their integration by the end of the year.
Moldova Integrates EVO Digital Credentials into Banking Sector
Four major Moldovan banks have begun accepting digital identity credentials via the EVO government application, marking a shift toward standardized, paperless verification. By scanning QR codes, clients can now authorize data sharing directly from their phones, aligning the nation’s digital infrastructure with emerging European security frameworks.

Nicoleta Colomeeț, Director of the Moldova eGovernance Agency, emphasized that the goal is to reach ubiquity by embedding trusted identification into daily routines. Beyond domestic utility, the EVO wallet is engineered to meet European Digital Identity standards. As part of the WE BUILD consortium, Moldova has already conducted cross-border interoperability tests with partners in France, Hungary, Austria, Belgium, and several other European nations. These trials focus on validating digital IDs and driving licences to ensure that Moldova’s infrastructure remains compatible with broader European systems as the country pursues its EU candidacy.
