Lioness, founded by former Kellogg’s and PepsiCo executive Nicky Jackson, hit the market in June 2026. The brand’s line of functional fruit snacks—marketed as Energy, PickMeUp, and Calm—is currently stocked in more than 1,900 Target stores and 330 Sprouts Farmers Market locations. The capital infusion arrives as the company scales its distribution to meet retail demand without relying on traditional venture capital rounds.
JPalmer Collective Backs Lioness With $5 Million Credit Line
A $1 million asset-based line of credit, expandable to $5 million, has been secured by functional snack brand Lioness. The financing deal between two women-led firms aims to bolster working capital and fuel growth for the startup, which recently debuted in over 2,200 retail locations across the United States.

Jennifer Palmer, founder of JPalmer Collective, noted that the firm bypassed some of its standard lending criteria to support the brand. By opting for an asset-based facility, Jackson retains greater control over her company, avoiding the equity dilution often associated with venture-backed expansion. The partnership emphasizes a shared strategic focus on the better-for-you consumer packaged goods sector and a commitment to advancing women-led enterprises.
