The second initiative, a collaboration with Nanil Therapeutics, utilizes secure health data to identify biological markers that track the progression of neurodegenerative conditions.
Linearis Labs Secures Funding for Two AI-Driven Health Projects
The Terry Fox Research Institute has awarded $40.9 million across 14 Canadian project teams to accelerate precision medicine through artificial intelligence. Among the recipients, Québec-based Linearis Labs will lead two initiatives focused on using integrated biological data to improve outcomes for cancer and neurodegenerative disease patients.

These efforts leverage the Digital Health & Discovery Platform’s federated learning infrastructure. This technology enables multi-institutional analysis while keeping sensitive patient data localized, ensuring privacy remains intact during the discovery process. Linearis Labs CEO Alexandre Le Bouthillier noted that by integrating disparate data layers—including the TMIC metabolomics GigaKit™—the company can move beyond fragmented insights to achieve a holistic view of complex diseases. These projects form part of a broader national effort involving 55 partners to refine how AI-driven tools identify and monitor life-altering health conditions.
