The company’s flagship EA5000NP distributed electric drive axle eliminates the traditional mechanical differential, utilizing two oil-cooled motors to enable independent wheel torque management. Operating on an 800 V architecture, the system produces a peak power of 900 kW and has already seen deployment in over 3,000 vehicles. For heavy-duty requirements, the EA4800N four-speed axle provides up to 48,000 N•m of torque per axle, scaling to nearly 100,000 N•m in a dual-drive configuration.
CDTL Unveils High-Torque E-Drive and EMB Systems at IAA Transportation
At the IAA Transportation 2026 exhibition in Hannover, CDTL is showcasing a suite of advanced drivetrain and braking technologies designed for heavy-duty commercial transport. The company’s latest lineup centers on distributed electric drive axles and electromechanical braking systems engineered to replace traditional mechanical components in next-generation transit vehicles.

CDTL is also advancing its EMB electromechanical braking technology, which has now entered small-series production. Field applications indicate the system reduces vehicle weight by over 100 kg, shortens braking distances by 10%, and cuts braking-system energy consumption by 85.4%. These components, alongside the low-floor EA2100N portal axle and the integrated EA1100K drive-steering-suspension system, reflect a wider industry shift toward drive-by-wire and brake-by-wire actuation. As commercial fleets prioritize electrification and autonomous capabilities, CDTL's booth at Hall 21, Stand D37, drew significant interest from global manufacturers during the event's opening.
