By utilizing the Copernicus GLO-30 terrain model, founder Matija Gavrilovic and his team have layered complex geospatial data over official government registers and agricultural censuses. The database includes 3.8 million plots sourced from public domain records in the European Union, alongside satellite analytics for regions where formal data is less accessible.

As climate change shifts the boundaries of traditional wine regions, a new interactive database has mapped over 4.3 million vineyards across 90 countries. The platform integrates satellite topographical measurements with granular climate indices, offering unprecedented access to soil composition, elevation, and solar radiation data for the global wine industry.
Beyond simple navigation, the project serves as a technical resource for viticulture. Users can analyze specific metrics such as the Huglin and Winkler indices, rainfall patterns, and geological profiles for individual parcels. The system honors legal nomenclature, ranging from French INAO delimitations to U.S. AVA borders. Winemakers are encouraged to claim their profiles to verify visitor policies and update grape variety data, ensuring the platform remains a living record of global wine production in a changing climate.
