The takeover eschewed traditional velvet-rope glamour for an aesthetic that felt intentionally layered into the venue's existing architecture. Neon signage, graphic posters, and custom pink-and-black pool tables occupied the space, while the atmosphere was punctuated by a DJ performance from Mark Ronson. The event served as a high-profile showcase for the brand's new Black Opium Pink Glaze fragrance and Make Me Blush cream collection, with product displays integrated into deli-style windows and vending machines scattered throughout the subterranean rooms.
YSL Beauty Turns SoHo Taqueria Into a Downtown Fashion Hub
La Esquina, the storied SoHo taqueria at Kenmare and Lafayette, transformed into a makeshift epicenter of New York culture Saturday night as YSL Beauty brought its global Block Party series to Manhattan, blending the grit of the downtown scene with the brand's latest couture-inspired beauty launches.

An eclectic guest list of city staples and cultural influencers navigated the space, including Teyana Taylor, Lauryn Hill, Emmy Rossum, and Karl Anthony Towns with Jordyn Woods. YSL Beauty U.S. ambassadors Amelia Gray and Laura Harrier hosted the evening, which also featured a pop-up station from Bang Bang Tattoo. By embedding the event directly into a local landmark, the brand aimed to move away from conventional beauty counters toward a more experiential, site-specific form of marketing that leans into the city's local vernacular.
