Akeso to Unveil Phase III Ivonescimab Data at ESMO 2026

The company’s flagship ivonescimab, the world's first approved PD-1/VEGF bispecific antibody, will take center stage with 12 separate presentations. The most anticipated data comes from the HARMONi-GI1 Phase III trial, which compares ivonescimab plus chemotherapy against the current standard of durvalumab and chemotherapy for advanced biliary tract cancer. This study has been selected for the Presidential Symposium, underscoring the clinical interest in the drug’s potential to improve survival outcomes.

Beyond the biliary tract study, Akeso will share rapid oral presentations detailing the drug's efficacy in first-line treatments for renal cell carcinoma and recurrent or metastatic thymic carcinoma. These updates are part of a broader push to validate the molecule across varied malignancies, including lung cancer, gastrointestinal cancers, and difficult-to-treat conditions like glioblastoma and pancreatic cancer.

Simultaneously, the company will showcase 15 studies involving cadonilimab, its dual PD-1/CTLA-4 inhibitor. Spanning over ten tumor types—including gastric, colorectal, and nasopharyngeal cancers—these presentations cover neoadjuvant and advanced-stage treatment settings. The full results for both drug candidates are scheduled for release during the congress, which runs from October 23 to 27 in Spain.
