By adopting Teleste’s hardware, Comporium aims to leverage plug-in transponders that bridge physical outside-plant equipment with centralized software monitoring. The integration includes the Virtual Device Manager (VDM) and the Argus management suite, which provide granular diagnostics, remote control capabilities, and inventory tracking for the provider’s technical teams.
Comporium Taps Teleste as Exclusive HFC Upgrade Partner
After a rigorous competitive bidding process, Comporium has named Teleste its sole provider for network management and amplifier hardware. The deal secures the deployment of 1.8 GHz-capable ICON series amplifiers and the Argus management platform across the communications provider's extensive infrastructure footprint in the Carolinas.
Comporium’s decision follows extensive field trials that prioritized installation speed and radio-frequency performance. Mike Deller, the company's Senior Vice President of Engineering and Planning, noted that the ICON series surpassed performance benchmarks during these trials, providing the necessary confidence for a sole-supplier agreement. The deployment schedule will align with Comporium's strategic high-split modernization efforts, paving the way for a transition to 1.8 GHz operations. For Teleste, the contract serves as a significant validation of its end-to-end ecosystem, which combines physical hardware with mature operational software to streamline complex network workflows.
