Howard University Hosts 4th Annual HBCU First LOOK Film & TV Festival
Howard University returns as the epicenter for the 4th annual HBCU First LOOK Film & TV Festival from November 5–7, marking a strategic expansion with STARZ joining as the inaugural presenting sponsor to help bridge the gap between collegiate talent and the professional entertainment industry.

The festival schedule features high-profile master classes and industry panels. Autumn Bailey-Ford will tackle the global nature of film production, while Nicky Micheaux leads a session on vertical storytelling. Grammy-winning producers Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis are set to explore the intersection of music and film. Beyond technical workshops, the event celebrates the 2026 I Aspire 25, an honoree list featuring industry figures such as Michael Strahan and Eva Marcille. According to founder Sheila Eldridge, the festival is uniquely student-driven, with 12 Howard University students directly involved in producing the event’s programming and interactive elements.
