RES Debuts EcoSite IQ to Automate Environmental Site Screening

Resource Environmental Solutions has introduced EcoSite IQ, a proprietary, patent-pending methodology designed to accelerate the identification of environmental restoration projects. By integrating geospatial, hydrologic, and ecological modeling, the system replaces manual parcel-by-parcel reviews with automated analysis, allowing for rapid assessment of large-scale landscapes and watersheds.

The platform synthesizes terrain and engineering data to pinpoint sites with the highest potential for ecological and economic return. While initial deployments focused on water-resource initiatives—yielding estimates between 26 million and 665 million gallons annually—the firm is currently scaling the technology to evaluate biodiversity, riparian habitats, and water quality credits.

CEO Roger Wiederkehr noted that the tool provides the precision necessary for clients to make capital decisions across vast land assets. By moving away from traditional, labor-intensive desktop reviews, RES aims to uncover restoration opportunities that conventional screening methods frequently overlook. The company has filed a provisional patent for the methodology and expects to continue expanding the system's underlying datasets.
