PolyAI Recruits Sunil Shah to Lead Financial Scaling

His arrival marks a strategic shift for the New York-based firm as it pushes its Agentic Dialog Platform into new markets and scales its conversational AI infrastructure.

PolyAI Recruits Sunil Shah to Lead Financial Scaling

Shah arrives with two decades of experience navigating the intersection of technology, finance, and capital markets. During his tenure at Rapid7, he managed the scaling of the firm’s annual recurring revenue from $300 million to $800 million. His previous background includes a decade spent as a technology investor at firms like Surveyor Capital, as well as a leadership role at Imperva during its $2 billion acquisition. At PolyAI, he will command the global finance organization, encompassing treasury, accounting, and revenue operations, with an immediate mandate to increase the accessibility of the company’s proprietary Agentic Dialog Platform.

The appointment coincides with PolyAI’s recent technical rollouts, including the Dialog-RSN-1 reasoning model and Wren, an in-platform agent designed to optimize conversational performance. CEO and co-founder Nikola Mrkšić noted that Shah’s dual perspective as both an operator and an investor is critical for the next growth phase. PolyAI currently supports hundreds of global enterprises, including Marriott and UniCredit, by managing complex, sovereign-by-design dialog agents across 75 languages.
