The acquisition, slated to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, bridges the gap between real-world observation and digital simulation. Rocscience specializes in modeling how soil, rock, and structures react under stress, serving clients in roughly 125 countries. Its AI-assisted workflows allow engineers to analyze slope stability and infrastructure performance, which Hexagon intends to pair with its own continuous monitoring hardware to accelerate risk detection and intervention.
Hexagon Targets Geotechnical Expansion With $535 Million Rocscience Buy
Hexagon AB has agreed to acquire Toronto-based Rocscience for $535 million, integrating the geotechnical software provider into its Radar & Monitoring division. By merging Hexagon’s physical sensor data with Rocscience’s predictive engineering models, the company aims to establish a continuous feedback loop for mining and infrastructure safety.

Henning Sandfort, President of Infrastructure & Geospatial at Hexagon, noted that the combination allows customers to transition from raw data capture to informed decision-making with increased confidence. Financially, the deal is set to be accretive to Hexagon’s net income immediately. Rocscience is projected to generate nearly $50 million in revenue for the 2026 calendar year, with over 80 percent of that figure coming from recurring sources and EBITAC margins exceeding 40 percent.
