Zenni and Chase Stokes Bring Vision Care to NYC Students

More than half of the 300 students screened at Manhattan Early College Academy required updated prescriptions, highlighting a critical gap in student health resources. Zenni Optical and actor Chase Stokes partnered with the nonprofit Bring Change to Mind to provide free eye exams and eyewear to the school’s student body.

The initiative, held on October 7, aimed to bridge the intersection between physical sight and mental wellness. Beyond distributing frames from the Zenni x Chase Stokes collection, the event featured student-led discussions organized by the school’s Bring Change to Mind club. These sessions encouraged participants to dismantle stigmas surrounding mental health while emphasizing that holistic wellbeing includes routine vision care.

Clinical services were provided by Optical Academy, ensuring students received immediate access to professional screenings. Veronica Alcaro, VP of Brand at Zenni, noted that clear vision is foundational to a student's ability to engage with their environment. The project aligns with World Vision Day and World Mental Health Day, serving as a reminder that addressing vision impairment is a necessary component of academic and personal success.
