The event, held at the newly inaugurated Happy Kitchen, serves as the centerpiece of the NBA Cares x Sands Cares Community Impact Week 2026. The facility functions as a vocational training ground for individuals with disabilities, those in mental health recovery, and local youth with special educational needs. Since its opening in August, the kitchen has provided training to over 30 individuals, who now prepare approximately 250 meals daily.
NBA Legends Join Sands China to Support Macao Social Enterprise
NBA icons Stephon Marbury and Cuttino Mobley joined Sands China executives in Macao today to launch the Fuhong Society’s new Happy Kitchen social enterprise, marking World Mental Health Day by distributing 200 boxed lunches to residents as part of a broader commitment to provide 1,500 meals to the community.
During the plaque unveiling ceremony, representatives from Las Vegas Sands and Sands China emphasized the initiative's role in fostering social inclusion. Beyond the meal distribution, the day featured wellness workshops, including singing bowl sessions and drawing activities, aimed at promoting mental well-being for participants from the Sheng Kung Hui Macau Social Services Coordination Office and the Bosco Youth Service Network. The Impact Week continues through October 11, concluding with a basketball carnival at The Venetian Macao.
