The card functions by allowing users to set custom spending thresholds within a dedicated app. Purchases falling below the limit remain standard pay-in-full transactions, while larger expenses are automatically converted into predictable monthly installments. Users retain full control, with the ability to adjust installment plans or revert to full payment through the app before the statement closing date.
Splitit Introduces White-Label World Mastercard for Local Banks
Mid-sized banks and credit unions will soon gain the ability to issue branded credit cards with integrated, automated installment features. Splitit’s new white-label World Mastercard, slated for an early 2027 rollout, aims to help smaller financial institutions compete for everyday consumer spending by combining debit-like simplicity with flexible pay-over-time options.

By leveraging Mastercard’s global infrastructure, the product provides institutions with a turnkey lending solution that avoids the need to build complex internal systems from the ground up. Nandan Sheth, CEO of Splitit, noted that the offering fills a critical gap for banks that already hold primary customer relationships but lack the specialized technology to offer point-of-purchase financing. The product includes standard security features such as Zero Liability Protection and tokenization, ensuring that consumers receive the same safety guarantees as any other Mastercard holder.
