Senior Star Marks 50 Years with FORTUNE Best Workplace Honor

Nearly 900 associates gathered in Tulsa on October 13 to celebrate Senior Star’s 50th anniversary, an event punctuated by the company’s new designation as a 2026 FORTUNE Best Workplace in Aging Services. The honor arrives as the family-owned provider pivots toward its next half-century of senior care.

The recognition stems from direct feedback provided by 99% of the organization’s workforce, highlighting a culture built on long-term values rather than corporate mandates. During the anniversary festivities, CEO Anja Rogers introduced "Moment Makers," an initiative designed to formalize the personal acts of service that define the company’s reputation. This program succeeds the long-standing "Difference Makers" tradition, aiming to spotlight the everyday choices associates make to ensure residents feel valued and understood.

Since its founding in 1976, the Tulsa-based company has expanded to operate six communities across four states, providing independent living, assisted living, and memory care services. As the organization collects stories from families and staff to document its history, the leadership team emphasizes that the heartbeat of their operations remains the servant-leader mindset that has guided their growth over the last five decades.
