The 200,000-square-foot expansion nearly doubles the museum’s total exhibit space, marking the final stage of a three-decade master plan. Visitors will find the shuttle displayed vertically in a launch-ready configuration, flanked by authentic solid rocket boosters and the ET-94 external tank. Beyond the shuttle, the center houses over 100 new artifacts and interactive displays spread across the Samuel Oschin Shuttle Gallery, the Korean Air Aviation Gallery, and the Kent Kresa Space Gallery.
Space Shuttle Endeavour Set for Permanent Display in New Science Center
Fourteen years after its historic trek through the streets of Los Angeles, the Space Shuttle Endeavour is finally moving to its permanent home. The California Science Center announced that advance reservations for the new Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center will open to the public on October 21, 2026.

While general admission to the Science Center remains free, officials strongly recommend securing reservations for the new facility due to expected high demand. A $4 service fee applies to each entry, though this charge is waived for California Science Center members. Members receive an exclusive window to book their spots starting October 19 at 9:30 a.m., two days before the general public. The facility officially opens its doors to the public on November 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
