Construction giant Clayco has appointed former OpenAI executive Zack Kass to its Board of Advisors, signaling a push to integrate generative artificial intelligence into the firm's architecture and engineering workflows. Clayco founder and executive chairman Bob Clark stated that the move aims to leverage Kass’s experience during the rapid expansion of generative AI to refine how the company delivers projects. As the firm manages $8.1 billion in annual revenue, it seeks to maintain its competitive edge by embedding emerging technologies into the physical construction process.

Kass brings a background spanning over a decade in AI development, previously helping scale OpenAI’s partnerships and customer success divisions. Beyond his corporate work, he maintains academic advisory roles at the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He will now join Clayco’s existing advisory team to provide strategic counsel across the company’s industrial, commercial, and institutional portfolios.
