This process evaluates everything from infection control and surgical safety to the logistical nuances of the medical travel journey, including pre-arrival coordination and financial transparency.
General Manager José Francisco Bernal Márquez noted that the 18-month certification process involved rigorous gap assessments and staff training, which directly contributed to increased international patient volume. For an institution that performs roughly 1,000 surgeries monthly, the recognition validates a safety record that includes zero institutional surgical infections over the past eight years and a reoperation rate of just 0.8%.
