WellQor Extends Online Therapy Access to CHAMPVA Beneficiaries

Military families navigating the complexities of the Civilian Health and Medical Program of the Department of Veterans Affairs now have a wider path to mental health support. WellQor, a national online therapy provider, has officially integrated CHAMPVA into its insurance network to address chronic shortages in accessible care.

CHAMPVA provides health coverage to spouses and children of veterans who are permanently disabled or deceased due to service-connected conditions. Despite the program's reach, beneficiaries often struggle to locate providers willing to accept the coverage, leaving many without consistent access to psychological services. By shifting these consultations to a virtual environment, the Melville-based practice aims to remove the geographical hurdles that frequently prevent families from seeking help.

"Military families sacrifice so much, and the least we can do is make sure they can access the mental health support they deserve," said David Schwam, CEO of WellQor. The platform utilizes a personalized matching system designed to pair patients with licensed therapists within one week. This addition complements the company’s existing coverage, which already includes Medicare and various commercial insurance plans across 14 states.
