Systemair Launches R290-Based Climate Control Unit

With a global warming potential of just 0.02, a new air handling unit from Swedish manufacturer Systemair aims to bypass the tightening restrictions on synthetic refrigerants. The Geniox HP DFN integrates ventilation and climate control into a single, compact system designed for commercial and public infrastructure.

The unit utilizes R290, a natural refrigerant that renders the system PFAS-free and compliant with upcoming European F-gas regulations. By combining fresh air supply with high-efficiency heat recovery and cooling, the hardware functions as an all-in-one climate solution suitable for both indoor and outdoor placement.

Thieu Avontuur, Geniox Product Manager at Systemair, noted that the system arrives factory-ready, removing the need for specialized technicians to handle the heat pump cycle during installation. This plug-and-play approach, paired with a robust safety architecture, targets the growing market demand for energy-efficient, future-proof building technology.
