Since joining the firm in 2022, Simmons has been instrumental in scaling the company’s portfolio from 2,000 units to approximately 7,000. His focus on sourcing acquisition opportunities and building institutional capital relationships has been a primary driver of this expansion. Prior to his work at Brazos, Simmons held senior capital markets positions at Jones Lang LaSalle and Bank of America, sharpening his expertise in debt and equity capital sourcing.

James Roberts, President and Co-Founder of Brazos Residential, noted that Simmons’s deep understanding of capital markets and his ability to identify investment opportunities are essential for the firm’s future strategic growth. Simmons, a graduate of the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin, remains active in industry organizations such as The Real Estate Council and the University of Texas Undergraduate Real Estate Society.

Headquartered in Dallas, Brazos Residential manages over $800 million in assets. The firm specializes in workforce and Class B/C multifamily housing across Sun Belt markets, employing a vertically integrated strategy that combines property management, construction, and investment management to improve housing options near major employment hubs.
