Konishi describes his approach to Shiba as a balance between a carefree exterior and a core of genuine, effortless strength. The actor, who has followed the Weekly Shonen Jump manga since its initial volume, noted that he specifically sought to capture the character’s elusive vibe, which serves as a necessary anchor for the story’s grim, revenge-driven tone. The anime, produced by studio Cypic, features direction by Tetsuya Takeuchi and character designs by Keigo Sasaki.
Katsuyuki Konishi Joins Kagurabachi Anime as Togo Shiba
The production team behind the anticipated Kagurabachi anime adaptation has officially cast Katsuyuki Konishi as Togo Shiba, the veteran sorcerer and ally to the Rokuhira family. The announcement arrives alongside a new character visual and trailer, further building momentum for the series ahead of its upcoming global premiere tour.

Beyond the casting news, the project is moving forward with a multi-city world tour scheduled to begin in July. Screenings of the first 20 minutes of episode one are confirmed for Anime Expo in Los Angeles, Japan Expo in Paris, AnimagiC in Mannheim, and Anime NYC. Organizers recently added a new premiere slot at Otakon in Washington, DC, to the itinerary. With the source material by Takeru Hokazono having already surpassed 4 million copies in circulation, the adaptation remains one of the most closely watched projects currently in development for global streaming on Crunchyroll.
