The dealership formerly known as Toyota of Bowie has officially adopted the name Group 1 Toyota Bowie. This transition, effective June 26, 2026, marks a strategic effort by Houston-based retailer Group 1 Automotive to unify its national network of dealerships under a single, recognizable corporate identity.
Group 1 Automotive has managed the Maryland location since early 2024. By aligning the Bowie site with its broader network of 250 dealerships across the U.S. and U.K., the company intends to provide a more consistent experience for customers. This includes standardized practices for vehicle financing, maintenance, and sales across its portfolio of 37 brands. Local drivers in Prince George’s County can expect the same service standards and team relationships that have characterized the store for years, now supported by the expanded technological infrastructure of the parent company.
