The new bourbon features a mash bill of 60% corn, 25% rye, and 15% malted rye. Aged for six years in new charred American white oak barrels and bottled at 54% ABV, the spirit is designed to offer a complex flavor profile. Tasting notes highlight aromas of dark brown sugar and grilled peaches, leading to a palate of spiced vanilla, hazelnut toffee, and orange peel. The finish provides a lingering sweetness of caramel and toasted nuts.
Sagamore Whiskey Expands Portfolio with National Bourbon Launch
Starting July 1, 2026, Baltimore-based distillery Sagamore Whiskey will bring its High Rye Straight Bourbon Whiskey to a national audience. The expansion marks a strategic shift for the brand, which built its reputation on reviving Maryland’s historic rye traditions while aiming to bridge the gap between classic bourbon and rye profiles.
Master Distiller Ryan Norwood noted that the release targets enthusiasts seeking the intersection of bourbon sweetness and rye spice. The product first debuted as a limited batch in Baltimore last fall, where it earned a 91-point rating from Whisky Advocate. Priced at an SRP of $50, the whiskey will be available through select premium retailers and at the distillery’s waterfront location in the Baltimore Peninsula, with plans for distribution at Total Wine & More.
