The project adds two berths to the original infrastructure, which opened in July 2025. This expansion is expected to unlock approximately 200 additional ship calls and 700,000 extra guest arrivals annually. Starting in September 2026, the destination will transition to routine three- and four-ship operations, with Princess Cruises and AIDA joining the Carnival Cruise Line rotation.
Carnival Corporation Doubles Pier Capacity at Celebration Key
Carnival Corporation has completed an early expansion of its Celebration Key pier on Grand Bahama Island, doubling the facility’s berthing capacity to four ships. The upgrade, which allows the destination to host over 13,000 guests daily, is designed to accommodate surging demand across the company’s diverse fleet of cruise lines.

CEO Josh Weinstein noted that completing the work ahead of schedule allows the company to capitalize on current market momentum. By the time the destination celebrates its first anniversary on July 19, 2026, it will have processed 2.5 million guests. Projections suggest that figure will climb to 3.5 million in the second year. Economic forecasts from Tourism Economics anticipate that the site will generate 2,500 direct local jobs and contribute $9.7 billion to the Bahamian GDP over the next two decades.
