Cogent Communications Finalizes $225 Million Data Center Divestiture
Cogent Communications has finalized the sale of 10 data center facilities to an entity backed by I Squared Capital. The transaction, which netted the Washington-based internet service provider $225 million in cash, marks a strategic consolidation of the company’s physical infrastructure footprint across the United States.

Cogent currently maintains an all-optical IP network serving 306 markets globally. This sale represents a significant liquidity event for the NASDAQ-listed firm, allowing it to streamline its operations while maintaining its core service delivery capabilities from its Washington headquarters.
