XCMG Launches First Overseas Electric Machinery Plant in Indonesia
On July 27, XCMG officially inaugurated its New Energy Manufacturing Base at the Weda Bay Industrial Park in North Maluku. The facility marks the Chinese manufacturer's first overseas production site dedicated to electric equipment, delivering its initial fleet directly to the Tsingshan Holding Group for local mining and logistics operations.
This development strengthens XCMG’s thirty-year presence in the archipelago, where it currently supports a fleet of over 30,000 machines through a three-tier maintenance network. The company now oversees an end-to-end chain of R&D, production, and service within Indonesia. With nearly 80% of its local workforce comprised of Indonesian citizens, the project emphasizes job creation and skill development. This expansion aligns with XCMG’s broader corporate strategy, which recently earned the firm a spot on the Fortune China ESG Impact List for its focus on intelligent and green industrial growth.
