The company’s move to settle the liability marks the conclusion of a multi-year restructuring effort. By paying off the loan early, Lode Gold successfully captured a rebate on extension fees, bolstering a balance sheet that has seen its market capitalization grow from a 2023 low of roughly $3 million to over $30 million today. CEO Wendy T. Chan described the milestone as the final step in the company's turnaround plan, signaling a shift toward the growth phase of its strategy.
Lode Gold Clears Debt Ahead of Schedule to Fuel Fremont Expansion
Lode Gold Resources has officially retired the senior secured debt tied to its Fremont Gold Mine in California, clearing the path for the company to transition from a turnaround phase into active project development. The repayment, totaling approximately US$3.6 million, arrives well ahead of the original 2028 maturity date.

With the Fremont Property now unencumbered, the company is pivoting toward technical advancement. Plans for the remainder of 2026 include extensive infill and metallurgical drilling, the evaluation of nine new expansion targets, and the development of an initial mine plan. These efforts are expected to culminate in a Pre-Feasibility Study by July 2027. Located in the historic Mother Lode Gold Belt, the Fremont site holds significant brownfield infrastructure, including over 43,000 meters of historical drilling and existing access to power and water. As the company advances its flagship California asset, it is also weighing a potential spin-out of its Dingman Property in Ontario to further streamline its operational focus.
