Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste saw total passenger traffic dip 1.9% in July 2026, totaling 6.4 million travelers across its international network. The decline, driven by softening figures in Mexico and Puerto Rico, contrasts with a sustained upward trajectory in the company's Colombian airport operations.
Puerto Rico’s Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport faced similar pressure, recording a 5.1% decline in total traffic. Both domestic and international segments at the San Juan facility saw consistent contraction throughout the month. Conversely, the company’s Colombian portfolio demonstrated resilience with a 5.8% year-on-year increase. Domestic passenger growth of 7.8% in Colombia proved the primary engine for this regional expansion, helping to offset the stagnating international numbers at the Rionegro airport.
