The authorization allows firms to leverage Fieldguide’s existing agentic AI platform to meet the strict demands of the U.S. Department of War. With approximately 80,000 organizations expected to undergo CMMC Level 2 assessments, the ability to integrate automated evidence testing and control mapping into a certified boundary provides a significant operational advantage. The platform supports practitioners by automating the testing of 320 assessment objectives across 14 control families, all while maintaining the necessary DFARS 252.204-7012 compliance standards.
Fieldguide Secures FedRAMP Authorization for CMMC Compliance
Audit and advisory firms can now conduct CMMC and NIST 800-171 assessments within a secure federal environment, as Fieldguide achieves FedRAMP Moderate authorization. Partnering with Knox Systems, the platform enables defense contractors to manage compliance requirements without the need for additional infrastructure or redundant software deployments.

By utilizing Knox Systems’ managed federal cloud, Fieldguide has bypassed traditional authorization bottlenecks. Firms already utilizing Fieldguide for commercial engagements can transition to federal work without retraining staff or migrating data, maintaining their existing C3PAO or RPO accreditations. According to Chris Szymansky, CTO and Co-Founder of Fieldguide, the environment enables the same agent-powered workflows used in the private sector to function within a government-grade security framework. The service rollout began in August 2026, offering a streamlined path for auditors tasked with the surge in defense-related compliance work.
