Cellular Intelligence Recruits AI and Biotech Heavyweights
A Turing Award winner, the co-founder of Moderna, and two leading European research directors have joined the Scientific Advisory Board of Cellular Intelligence. The Boston-based company aims to build a universal foundation model of cell signaling, bridging the gap between predictive AI systems and therapeutic drug development.
European research leaders Jens Nielsen, CEO of the BioInnovation Institute, and Fabian Theis, director of the Computational Health Center at Helmholtz Munich, round out the appointments. Their expertise in systems biology and mathematical modeling is intended to accelerate the company’s ability to predict how cells respond to medical interventions. CEO Micha Breakstone emphasized that the goal is to unite scientific rigor with computational scale to decode the fundamental rules of cellular change. This expansion follows the company’s recent acquisition of the STEM-PD Parkinson’s therapy program and the appointment of Arjun Raj as Chief Scientific Officer, signaling a shift toward integrating experimental data directly into their clinical pipeline.
