Autoliv Trims Share Count Following Quarterly Buyback Retirement

Autoliv has formally retired over 1.2 million shares of common stock, a move that reduces the automotive safety giant's total issued shares to 74.4 million. The decision follows a quarterly buyback program, leaving the company with 72 million shares currently outstanding as of September 30, 2026.

The retirement of 1,232,671 repurchased shares marks a strategic adjustment to the company's capital structure. Following this action, Autoliv now holds 2,415,007 shares in treasury. Under Delaware law, these treasury shares carry no voting rights and do not participate in future distributions.

Each of the 72,006,695 outstanding shares remains entitled to a single vote. The company confirmed the updated figures in a regulatory filing mandated by the Swedish Financial Instruments Trading Act. Autoliv, which reported $10.8 billion in sales for 2025, continues to operate its manufacturing and safety technology business across 25 countries.
