A steady stream of naval contracts has pushed Nel Hydrogen US to a $20 million total order intake from Collins Aerospace this month. The latest batch of purchase orders, valued at approximately $7 million, focuses on PEM electrolyzer stacks essential for life-support systems in American, British, and French submarine fleets.
Todd Cartwright, Nel’s Chief Commercial Officer, noted that the specialized requirements for submarine environments rely heavily on the company's established track record. By securing these projects, Nel solidifies its role as a key supplier for high-reliability life-support technology, moving beyond its primary focus on industrial-scale renewable hydrogen production.
