The expanded Midea America Research Center now spans 157,000 square feet, a 400% increase from its previous size. By consolidating engineering, consumer research, and product testing under one roof, the company aims to accelerate the development of appliances ranging from dishwashers to specialized refrigeration units. The facility features an auditorium, a product showroom, and dedicated spaces for collaboration to foster cross-departmental development.

Justin Reinke, President of Midea America Corp., noted that the expansion is designed to turn unmet consumer needs into practical, daily solutions. The center has already produced notable innovations, including the 50/50 Flex Upright Convertible Freezer and the STRAWash Dishwasher. Beyond research, the site serves as a pipeline for local engineering talent through university partnerships and co-op programs, supporting Midea's goal of blending design and performance for American households.
