Ayal Komod and Jolin Tsai Lead 37th Golden Melody Awards

Under a floral-themed canopy at Taipei Arena, the 37th Golden Melody Awards crowned two industry veterans as the night’s definitive victors. Ayal Komod swept three major categories for his album Go With The Flow, while Jolin Tsai claimed both Album of the Year and her first Best Female Singer title in nineteen years.

Ayal Komod dominated the evening, securing Best Mandarin Album, Best Male Singer, and Best Composer. His latest work marks a creative resurgence twelve years after his initial breakthrough. Reflecting on the accolades, Komod expressed a commitment to consistency, noting that he intends to keep creating with kindness while acting as a reliable partner to his listeners.

Jolin Tsai’s victory for her album Pleasure proved equally significant. Having previously won Album of the Year at the 30th ceremony for Ugly Beauty, her latest win signals a long-awaited recognition in the Best Female Singer category—a milestone she has not reached in nearly two decades. Tsai addressed the crowd with composure, emphasizing her focus on personal artistic growth despite external pressures or critical noise.

The ceremony also served as a stage for high-profile live performances. Karen Mok made a rare return after a ten-year absence, delivering a five-song medley alongside The Master. Japanese rock group Hitsujibungaku further energized the arena with a rendition of their track "more than words," the ending theme for the anime Jujutsu Kaisen, which drew a fervent response from the audience.
