Mark Garland Tapped to Lead Concorde’s First Arizona Campus

Garland transitions to his new role following a tenure as Campus President at the College of Health Care Professions in Dallas. Kevin Prehn, President of Concorde Career Colleges, cited Garland’s history of fostering student outcomes and managing programmatic growth as critical assets for the upcoming launch. The Glendale campus, situated at 8990 W. Glendale Ave., spans 53,000 square feet and is slated to open in 2027, pending regulatory approval.

The facility aims to accommodate more than 620 students annually, offering vocational training in fields including nursing, dental hygiene, surgical technology, and radiologic technology. This expansion represents the sixth Concorde location in the Southwest and serves as a pillar of Universal Technical Institute’s "North Star" initiative, a multi-year strategy designed to address national shortages in skilled healthcare labor. Garland noted that his immediate priorities include building a high-performing staff and establishing employer partnerships to meet regional workforce demands.
