St. Louis-based private equity firm WILsquare Capital has expanded its automotive distribution footprint by acquiring Ohio Paint Supply. The deal marks the fourth addition to the firm's specialized paint distribution platform, integrating a longstanding Ohio-based operator into a multi-regional network that now spans six states across the Midwest and South.
Josh Byers, CEO of Automotive Color & Supply, noted that the cultural alignment between the two organizations will facilitate growth into underserved markets alongside core vendor partners. This transaction follows a steady pattern of expansion for the platform, which previously incorporated Paint Works in 2024 and Smetzer Paint & Supply in 2025. With this latest move, the platform now maintains operations across Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Arkansas, Texas, and Louisiana, positioning itself as a dominant player in the regional paint and supply sector.
