The new series marks a significant technical upgrade for the company, offering enhanced capacitance characteristics compared to previous iterations. The lineup includes 46 distinct types across seven sizes, ranging from 6.3 mm to 12.5 mm in diameter. A standout in the collection is the 80 V rated model, which maintains high performance at operating temperatures reaching 135°C. These capacitors utilize a combination of conductive polymer and electrolyte solution, balancing low equivalent series resistance with the self-repairing properties required for long-term automotive reliability.
Taiyo Yuden Expands Hybrid Capacitor Line for High-Voltage Automotive Use
Taiyo Yuden has launched its new HVX (-K) and HTX (-K) series of conductive polymer hybrid aluminum electrolytic capacitors, engineered to meet the rigorous AEC-Q200 standards for automotive power systems. These components are specifically designed to handle the increased voltage and current demands of modern electric and safety-critical vehicle architectures.
Mass production of these components began in June 2026 at the facilities of subsidiary Elna Co., Ltd., located in Fukushima and Aomori prefectures. As automotive power circuits shift toward 48 V architectures to improve efficiency, these capacitors are intended to provide essential noise suppression and power smoothing for advanced driver-assistance systems and electric powertrains. Samples are currently available for 150 yen per unit.
